WCLV TO PRESENT BACH'S ST. JOHN PASSION BY APOLLO'S FIRE


On Good Friday, April 6, at 8:00 PM, WCLV will broadcast a performance of Bach's St. John
Passion by Apollo's Fire, the Cleveland Baroque Orchestra, given at St. Paul's Episcopal
Church in Cleveland Heights.

The concert. in addition to the Apollo's Fire orchestral ensemble, will include the
Apollo's Singers and these soloists: Ian Honeyman as the Evangelist; Jeffrey
Strauss as Jesus; Michael McMurray as Pilate; sopranos Jollie Greenleaf and
Annie Grimm; mezzo; Kirsten Solliek; tenors Richard Edger-Wilson and Marc Molomont,
and baritone Tom Meglioranza. Founding Director Jeanette Sorrell conducts.

This Passion in sung in English and is designed to be dramatic. The Evangelist, Jesus
and Pilate perform in a semi-staged manner from a circular platform in the center of the
musicans and chorus  The translation was done  by Jeannette Sorrell in collaboration
with the singing artists.
