Cleveland Orchestra in Linz, Austria

WCLV will present daily reports on the Cleveland Orchestra's eleventh international tour with Music Director Franz Welser-Möst—including the Orchestra’s eleventh appearance at the Lucerne Festival in Switzerland—from August 21 through September 3. The Orchestra will perform a total of ten concerts, including two programs each at the Edinburgh International Festival in Scotland, the Lucerne Festival in Switzerland, and the Salzburg Festival in Austria; two private concerts at the Abbey of St. Florian near Linz, Austria; and single concerts at the Stuttgart Music Festival in Germany and the Grafenegg Music Festival in Austria.

The tour reports will include reviews and previews of the concerts and some behind the scenes reports by Ana Papakhian, Director of Communications; Joe Short, Stage Manager; Director of Operations Julie Kim; and musicians Michael Sachs and Jack Sutte of the trumpet section. At the Lucerne Festival, Sachs and Sutte will be giving the world premiere of Matthias Pintscher's Chute d’Étoiles, hommage à Anselm Kiefer for two solo trumpets and orchestra. 

The reports will be heard weekdays at 10:20 AM and 5:20 PM; Saturdays at 10:20 AM and during the intermission of Saturdays at Severance, which begins at 8:00 PM; and Sundays at 11:20 AM and at the intermission of the Cleveland Orchestra broadcast at 4:00 PM.
