JOHN SIMNA, MUSIC DIRECTOR AND OPERATIONS MANAGER 

WCLV's Music Director and Operations Manager is the man who determines what selections will be listed in the WCLV Guide. At the same time, he is a regular commercial voice on the station and the host of WCLV's "Cleveland Orchestra Preview", heard Wednesdays at 3:00 PM and "Cleveland Orchestra Showcase", Mondays at 9:00 PM.  And his acclaimed "Jazz on WCLV" is heard on 104.9 beginning at Midnight, Sundays. As WCLV Operations Manager, he is responsible for seeing that programs are recorded off the satellite, that programming material from outside the station has arrived on time and that CDs and pre-recorded programs are lined up in proper order for the announcing staff.

John is an accomplished musician on the bass trombone and euphonium, and has played with the German Concert Orchestra, the Broadale Brass Ensemble, the Cleveland Philharmonic, and the many of the area's tuba concerts.

John is a graduate in accounting from Notre Dame and joined the WCLV staff in March of 1973. He and his wife Vikki (also a musician) have two children, Laura and Carl.
