WCLV PRESIDENT HONORED WITH THE GREAT IDEA AWARD

On October 30, 2012, Robert Conrad, WCLV's co-founder and President, was honored with
the Great Idea Award, presented by ideastream, the Cleveland public broadcaster, of which
WCLV becomes a member on January 1, 2013.
Conrad is only the third recipient of the award, the two previous being Betty Cope, who
was instrumental in the founding of WVIZ, and Dr. Donald and Ruth Goodman, who have
been very generous in their support of public broadcasting in Cleveland
In addition to a trophy, a plaque with Conrad's photo and the following text is posted
on the wall outside the Trustees' Conference Room at the Idea Center, home of
WVIZ/PBS, 90.3WCPN/NPR and WCLV. .
The plaque reads:
| Over five decades, Robert Conrad guided WCLV to an international reputation as a leading classical music broadcaster and producer and distributor of cultural programming. In a remarkable act of generosity, Robert and his colleagues assured WCLV remained a treasured resource by donating the station to the community. He then continued to support WCLV financially and through the contribution of his time and many talents. |
